These High Voltage solid state replacement rectifiers are designed to government specifications for use in place of high voltage rectifier tubes like the 866, 866A, and 3B28. 10,000 PIV. Wow! 10 thousand volts! (Ok, so 10KV isn't such a big deal, but it's heading in the right direction) Just plug them in and attach the anode cap. Appearance may vary on these surplus items removed from working military and FAA equipment. No filament current required. Appearance may vary (some have fluted sides to dissipate heat). If you buy several, I'll try to match them up for looks. SOLD OUT! None Expected..

Be sure to consider some of our 1947 vintage Big Buzzard anode caps!

These plug in solid state replacements are designed to replace all variants of the 5R4 and 5U4. PIV is 2800V. Just plug them in. They can also replace older types and smaller tubes with the same pinout like the 5Y3. In some cases you may wish to add a series resistor when going solid state because you get a bit more voltage with these than with the original vacuum rectifier. No filament current required. Besides the obvious reliability benefit, the high voltage will be much better regulated with this kind of low-drop rectifier than with the vacuum tube, which may drop B+ by 20-60 volts under heavy load. Appearance may vary (some taller, some metal) on these surplus items removed from working military and FAA equipment. If you order several, I'll try to match them up for looks. Only $5 each or 5 for $20. Appearance may vary.
